JOLYON PETCH & JETSKI SAFARI JOIN FORCES ON NEW SINGLE ‘TAKE ME HIGHER’

Melbourne-based DJ and producer Jolyon Petch teams up with New Zealand electronic act Jetski Safari for ‘Take Me Higher’, a melodic house collaboration that brings together emotive songwriting, atmospheric production and an uplifting dancefloor sensibility. Out now via Petch’s own Pop Kulture label, the single sees one of Australasia’s most established dance music names explore a fresh sonic direction.

Written together in Melbourne, ‘Take Me Higher’ began with an initial chord progression from Jetski Safari’s Sam Hill before evolving into a track built around contrast and emotion. The distinctive, melancholic vocals of Tiana Rosie sit against darker piano melodies, emotive keys and guitar lines, while uplifting trumpet flourishes add warmth and release. A standout breakdown builds towards the final chorus, delivering a euphoric payoff that balances the track’s introspective mood with an undeniable melodic lift.

For Petch, ‘Take Me Higher’ marks a departure from the club-focused productions that have defined much of his recent output, embracing a more melodic sound with appeal beyond the dancefloor. With its memorable vocal hook and understated production, the single is equally at home on radio and summer playlists as it is in a late-night set.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Petch has built an impressive catalogue of club hits, international chart success and award recognition. His reworking of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ became one of Australia’s biggest dance records of 2021, achieving Double Platinum certification in both Australia and New Zealand, spending seven consecutive weeks at No.1 on the ARIA Club Chart and topping Shazam charts. The track was also one of the most-played Australian songs on radio in 2021. Petch has since continued to deliver chart-topping releases across his own name and projects Elektrik Disko and YolaDisko, alongside his work running independent dance labels Pop Kulture, Glammarama and Houselife.

Jetski Safari, led by producer Sam Hill, emerged from Auckland’s electronic music scene with a sound that blends melodic house, tropical influences and memorable vocal performances. The project first gained international attention with ‘Like A Lie’ featuring Helen Corry, released through Australian dance label Sweat It Out, before following up with ‘With You’, a collaboration with Jupiter Project and Helen Corry that achieved Gold certification in New Zealand and reached No.2 on the NZ Artists Singles Chart. Their music has also taken them to stages across New Zealand and the Pacific, including Rhythm & Vines, Homegrown and Our House Festival.

Bringing together Petch’s proven dance music pedigree and Jetski Safari’s melodic, emotionally driven approach, ‘Take Me Higher’ is a fresh collaboration built on atmosphere, feeling and a chorus designed to stay with you long after the final beat.

‘Take Me Higher’ by Jolyon Petch & Jetski Safari is out now via Pop Kulture on all streaming platforms here. Made with the support of NZ On Air.
