The countdown is on; Mighty Hoopla Sydney lands on Bondi Beach on Saturday 21 February for the iconic festival’s Australian debut, bringing its globally celebrated spirit of pop, queer joy and community to Sydney.

Multi-platinum British R&B royalty Jamelia joins the lineup for an Australian exclusive performance. Jamelia first captured the heart of Aussie fans with her breakout smash ‘Superstar’ which charted at #1 on the ARIA singles chart in 2003. With a career spanning over 25 years, Jamelia’s accolades include four MOBO Awards and nine BRIT Award nominations. Her 2026 Australian return marks a long-awaited return of hits that defined an era.

Led by the magnetic Natalie Bassingthwaighte and sonic architect James Ash, Rogue Traders will take the stage. The multi-platinum powerhouse remains the definitive blueprint for high-gloss, high-voltage Australian pop, with their smash hit ‘Voodoo Child’ making waves globally.

Queensland-based DJ Ney Like A Horse brings pop-driven club sets to the Mighty Hoopla Sydney dancefloor, joined by DJs Hayday, Gaff E, Lagoon Femshayma and Toby Corton. Cabaret provocateur Reuben Kaye brings his sharp mix of music, comedy and political bite, alongside UK performers Clitclaw, and drag powerhouse Kween Kong. Ballroom will take centre stage with Rocky Stallone & Friends.

A defining moment of the festival, The Blak Queens First Nations showcase centres First Nations voices and performance, and promises the ultimate takeover as Miss Ellaneous, Josie Baker, Chandon Connors and special royal guests storm the main stage with next-level glamour and sass. Backed by an electrifying crew of Blak dancers led by iconic choreographer Sani Townson, this is where history, rhythm, and royalty collide.

Performances will unfold across four distinct stages set against the Bondi Beach backdrop, each offering a different slice of the Mighty Hoopla experience:

THE MAIN STAGE – sits directly on the sand, hosting the festival’s biggest live moments.

WET DREAMS PRESENTED BY HEAPS GAY - is shaped by Sydney’s queer nightlife, spanning DJs, club culture and performance.

GRINDR EDGE BAR - takes over the famous Bondi Pavilion bar as a central social hub throughout the day.

BEACH PLEASE! - brings together pop, camp and cabaret-led performances throughout the day.

Waverley Council Mayor Will Nemesh wanted to share, “Waverley Council is so excited to welcome one of the UK’s most-loved Festivals to Bondi. The overwhelming message from residents and businesses in the several weeks since the 14 December terror attack is that it is time for a bit of joy to come back to Bondi. The Bondi community is an incredibly resilient one and there is a real determination to not cower, and to come together and to remember all the things that make our beautiful home by the sea so wonderful. It is more important than ever for locals and visitors alike to embrace everything our beloved stretch of sand has to offer.”

After selling out year after year in London’s Brockwell Park and cementing its place as a cult favourite of the UK festival calendar, Mighty Hoopla now brings its unmistakable mix of nostalgia, drag, queerness and pop spectacle to Sydney.
