Just weeks after teasing fans with a raw acoustic version on TikTok, breakthrough Australian artist Jett Blyton is officially releasing his brand-new single “Apeshit” which is out now distributed by Anti-Dismal Music.
Originally shared as a one-off live performance with no plans for release, the track has since exploded across social media - racking up over 2.5 million+ views on TikTok, 300,000+ views on Instagram, and inspiring over 100 user-generated videos using the sound. The viral momentum has also seen Jett’s following skyrocket, growing by more than 30,000 fans across all platforms in just a few weeks.
Speaking on the unexpected journey behind the song, Jett shares, “If you said a month ago I’d be releasing a song called Apeshit this year, I wouldn’t have believed you - it didn’t exist yet. A few Fridays ago, I wrote this song about being the only gay dude in a room full of straight guys and how tokenistic it can feel. The fact it resonated with over 2.5m people now is so insane. I took the song to my friend Thomas Porter and said, ‘let's get this out ASAP’. With some final touches from aleksiah and Harry O'Brien (from Pacific Avenue), this is my favourite song I’ve ever put out.”
The official single version brings Jett’s sharp storytelling and unapologetic honesty to the forefront - capturing a universal feeling of isolation with Jett’s captivating unique energy and electronic alt pop sound. The new release follows the success of recent single “Needingabreak”, his most supported track at Australian Radio to date, and cements his reputation as one of the country’s most exciting new voices. Jett releases his Double Vision (Vol. 2) EP on November 7, 2025 which you can pre-save HERE!
The Canberra teen singer landed himself in the Triple J Unearthed High Yearbook for 2023 and 2024, nominated for the Music ACT Music Awards (MAMAs), and garnered the national and international attention of alt-pop music lovers, in music described as wonk, zany & attention grabbing, and for his incredibly low bass voice. Since Jett has received shoutouts from popstars Sabrina Carpenter and Tove Lo, along with a "If You Like Troye Sivan" feature on Triple J Unearthed.
